Arpeggiator

The energyXT2 Arpeggiator is built into every instrument track in the Sequencer. You can also create Arpeggiators in the Modular area.

Note: The Arpeggiator responds to MIDI on all channels, but it transforms all notes to channel 1. You will need additional MIDI processing if you need to maintain different MIDI channels.

Programs

Add/Delete/Save/Open/Rename/Select programs with the program selector. Arpeggiator programs are saved with the .xta extension.

Controls

Hold

When on, the Arpeggiator will keep playing the current arpeggio, regardless of input

Mode

As played
The arpeggio will be played in the order you pressed the input notes. The notes will repeat in this order as long as the input notes are held.
Up
Down

Down-up
Down and up
Chord
Not technically an arpeggio; all input notes will be played at every step.
Random
For each step, one of the input notes will be chosen at random.

Triplets

Triplets on or off. Combined with Step and Shuffle, this determines the step size.

Step

Step size note value: 4, 8, 16, 32, or 64. Combined with the Triplets button and the Shuffle amount, this determines the final step size.

Prob

Sets the probability that a note will be output at each step. Variable from 1 - 100%. For example: at 50%, each step has a 50% chance of being played.

Gate

Limits the length of output notes, as a percentage of the step size.

Gate CC

Sets a MIDI CC# to control the Gate value.

Gate Rnd

Adds an amount of randomness to the Gate value.

Shuffle

Sets the amount of shuffle/swing timing to apply to the step size. 0 = straight; 100 = tied triplets.

Shuffle CC

MIDI CC# to control the Shuffle value.

Rnd.velo

Amount of randomization applied to note velocities. At 0, input velocity is maintained. At 100, output velocity can be anywhere between 1 and the input velocity.

Oct

Number of octaves the arpeggio will span (1 - 5). The arpeggio will first be played in the original octave, and then will be repeated at each higher octave, in order.

Automation

The Arpeggiator cannot be automated, other than by applying MIDI CCs to the Gate and Shuffle amounts.
