Setup

Project

  • Location - Shows the location of the project, if it has been saved
  • Audio folder - Shows the location of the project's audio folder, if any. An audio folder is automatically created when you save a project. If the project is at C:\XT2\project.xt, the audio folder will be C:\XT2\project_audio\. When you save the project to a different location with Save As…, the audio folder will also be copied to that location.

Global

  • Startup - Select what happens when energyXT2 starts up:
    • Welcome - Start with the Welcome Screen.
    • Default Project - Start with the Default Project template, default.xt in the energyXT2 folder. To define a project as the default, use File > Set as Default Project.
    • Empty Project - Start with only an empty Sequencer.
    • Last project - Reopen the last used project on startup. You also can reopen the last project at any time with Ctrl L.

Other options:

  • Save pos/size of main window - When checked, the main window dimensions will be loaded from each .xt project file. Otherwise a project's dimensions will be ignored when opening it, and the last values saved in energyXT.ini will be used.
  • Prompt for Save changes - When checked, if you try to close a modified project without saving, energyXT2 will ask if you want to save the project. When the project is considered modifed, it will say “(Modified)” in the corner of the Modular area.
  • Random track color - When checked, each track in the Sequencer will have a different randomly selected color. When unchecked, the default color (defined in Setup>Looks>Sequencer>Part>Fill) will be used.
  • Show frequency bands in main toolbar - Sets the visibility of the little FFT analyzer bars in the toolbar. Disable them to save some CPU power.
  • Show hint in toolbar - When checked, a hint/tooltip will show in the toolbar, which gives a description and keyboard shortcut, if any, for the item under the mouse cursor.
